Fire Ants
Our carefully designed annual fire ant program provides coverage for your entire property.
Many of our customers choose to bundle this service with regular pest control to get a higher level of total pest protection, but it can be purchased as a stand-alone service.
Fire ants are difficult to control for several reasons:
- The colonies are often very large and extend under the ground a great distance.
- Colonies often have multiple queen so they can recover if a part of the colony and a queen or two have been killed.
- And colonies often occur in large numbers, so when you have eliminated one colony another will likely move in to occupy the space.
Fire ants are a pest you do not want inside your home or on your property. Their tendency for aggression and ability to sting means they can even be dangerous to have around, especially for those with allergies to stings. Fire ants can be a danger to humans, wildlife, livestock and pets.
We have had great success with our program and are happy to discuss protecting your property.
We are more than just a pest control company and our skilled, licensed technicians are happy to give you detailed information about all we offer.
Total time from egg to adult averages 30 days; workers may live up to 180 days; queens live two to six years. Fire ants favor warm, sunny conditions. They prefer dry fields and avoid shady areas such as woods. Colonies can contain several hundred thousand ants.
